Time for a Style Revolution

When I qualified as a teacher, twin sets and pearls were in vogue in fact this was probably the mandatory dress code. That was decades ago! So it's time to ditch the twin sets! Are some parts of your wardrobe in a time warp? Have your cosmetics passed their shelf life?

If so, it’s time for a serious review. Time to tip all your clothes on to the bed and only put back the items that you have worn in the past twelve months. The outfits remaining on the bed can probably be donated to charity, especially if they do not fit or are the wrong colour.

No doubt the twin set will in time re-invent itself and return in a new and improved version, but now is not the time. Maybe the Italians or the French will embrace it and bring the outfit back with panache? Perhaps ‘Pringle’ can re-invent its brand like ‘Burberry’ which has witnessed outstanding success recently.

Fact is when we think of British fashion what do we tend to think of? Tweeds, cashmeres, tartans and twin sets…Certainly I think this is how foreigners see us. Of course British fashion is much broader and more adventurous nowadays and we do have excellent designers such as Jasper Conran, John Rocha and Paul Smith to thank for much of this.

Now you were born an original... so why die a copy? Let's create your own personal style and 'brand.' Be yourself and love your life and who you are.
